From 'A Whale Called Milieu': Thinking with the Milieu

alexa dexa floats limitlessly in an expectationless expanse of ease. They lay on their back in their warm, candlelit bathtub, a cream-colored built-in basin. Bathwater frames their torso, their long brown hair gently floating under their shoulders. They’re wearing a bathing outfit. a vintage cream onesie with light blue lines gently forming tulips and their leaves.

Off center to the right, in alexa’s hand writing, is the incantation “soak until the ache dissipates into lull”. In collaboration with alexa’s 12 year old computer glitching out gloriously at simple image editing tasks, this pool of water is intersected by two lines of white. It mirrors itself loosely, upturned overhead, the right most section darkened. To the left, a vision of meltingness is drawn in purple crayon. Below, the hand-written text “soak” in big watery letters floats over the text “alexa dexa”, the lot of them enclosed in a rippling thin line.
